You may have heard of people talking about the “dark night of the soul.” This phrase usually refers to a time of personal anguish.
It’s when you start to question everything you thought was true.
You start to contemplate big questions like…
Why do I exist?
What are we all here to do?
What is the meaning of life?
As spiritual entrepreneurs, we are susceptible to experiencing a version of this in the course of creating, building and growing our business.
The path to success as an entrepreneur is often marked by uncertainty and doubt.
This can be stressful and exhausting and the “dark night of the soul” can arise at any time…
Sometimes it occurs when you’re just starting out. At other times it happens when you are moving up from one income level to another.
You realize what you used to know and what worked for you before isn’t working now.
You may realize that simply working harder on your business doesn’t necessarily create more income.
You may find out that there are people who think nothing of “borrowing” your business idea and calling it their own.
You’ll start to wonder why you do what you do and you may even start to believe that it’s just not worth carrying on.
I know how this feels. I’ve been there before and I can’t think of any entrepreneur worth their salt, who hasn’t felt the same way.
If you’re feeling disappointed and disillusioned about your business right now, here’s what I invite you to do
Take a step back and spend some time away from the everyday hustle and bustle of running a business.
Give yourself a break and do something completely different.
Take a mini vacation, spend an afternoon reading a good novel, get your nails done, treat yourself to a relaxing massage.
If you can’t manage time away for a day or two, try an hour instead.
Often, the problems and challenges that feel insurmountable are actually not impossible to overcome.
They just feel that way because you’ve been pushing too hard for too long. It’s a sign that you need to create space on both the physical and the spiritual level.
Learn how to create this sacred space with my Aligned Expansion Self-Study Program, an 8 week course on how to build a profitable and sustainable spiritual business.
As sensitive entrepreneurs, we are easily susceptible to the negative energies and vibes that all around us.
And it doesn’t have to come from the people you meet in person.
Negative energy can hit you through your news feed on social media or because of dismissive text message.
So if you’re feeling overwhelmed or anxious give yourself a chance to catch your breath.
Step away from your business for as long as you can.
You’ll find that doing this will go a long way toward restoring your faith and motivation for what you do and you’ll start to remember the excitement and joy that inspired you to start your business in the first place.
And when you’re ready to get back to business, grab my Aligned Expansion Self-Study Program, an 8 week course on how to build a profitable and sustainable spiritual business.
